Five Minute Friday : CRAVE

Five Minute Friday : CRAVE

Five Minute Friday : CRAVE

Out of all the definitions for the word Crave, this one got my attention, “to beg for something“. That’s really what we feel like sometimes when we pray, desperately, wanting, hoping, begging Him for a solution right away, or some progress to say the least.

But God doesn’t work that way. Sometimes there seems to be no progress in the matter we are praying for. But despite what it might look like, God is working. Because faith my friends, is not based on what we see, but what we don’t see, yet believe. We crave for signs, little ray of sunshine Lord! But no, we don’t see it.

Nevertheless, we must remember that our God, He is a faithful and loving Father. These words by Beth Moore struck a chord with me today.

God, I can’t understand why You’re doing this. But I know that, unlike me, Your actions cannot be inconsistent with Your heart, and I know Your heart is loving, good and faithful. Somehow, someway, somewhere all these things are for good. If I could know You better through this, that is all the good I need. ~ Beth Moore

Through this craving, God has taught me to rely on Him no matter what, show some more love for the special ones in my life and keep praying! He is working, not in the way I imagined and craved, but in a manner beyond myself.

I enjoy learning from God’s word, it amazes me, the wisdom and treasures of God and the way He reveals them to me day after day in a profound manner. In this space I share with you what I’ve learnt through my time with the Word. I earnestly believe that learning alone isn’t sufficient but walking in the word is crucial in a believer’s life. As much as I desire to walk in the word, it’s not always easy. My hope is to encourage you, my dear friend, in your walk with God with words that He has used to strengthen my own walk with Him.

Alice, I know all too well that heart-stopping feeling of vulnerability when preparing to press publish on a post which is deeply personal. But God always reveals that our openness helps pave the way for others to relate to what we share and feel supported with their own issues and challenges. This is a beautiful, transparent post about the vagaries of prayer and how God can often be more concerned to grow His child in faith and dependence than to swiftly send answers to her requests. May God bless you and give you hope and comfort as you wait patiently on Him. We can be reassured He is working in the background, even when we don’t yet see the results we long for. Blessed to be your neighbour at the #FMF link up this week.
