Memory Verse Monday – Week 1

Memory Verse Monday – Week 1

Memory Verse Monday – Week 1

A new year has begun and with it new goals and aspirations. Our walk with God needs to mature year after year. This year, I’m inviting you to a new challenge with me. It’s called Memory Verse Monday. I long to memorize more verses but its a little hard to follow through. The key to memorizing verses as you might have observed is consistency. You have to keep doing it, so your brain learns the pattern and expects new verses and retains them longer. If you’ve been wanting to memorize and didn’t know where to begin, don’t worry you are in the right place. Every Monday (or Sunday night), I plan to provide you with a verse to memorize and a little devotional around it, so it resonates in your heart deeply.

I know different people have different techniques for memorizing. There is no cookie cutter rule for it. Learn and adapt a method that best fits your comfort level. However, I plan to provide you with inspirations and resources along the way, so you can be inspired and motivated to keep going. I also know that doing too much at the same time won’t reap results. So we will be learning only one verse each week and repeating it through the week till it sinks in. Simple and efficient.

One of the best ways to reaching any goal is to have an accountability partner. I know that for some of you that might not work. So consider this my personal invitation to you to be your accountability partner for Memory Verse Monday. You will receive emails every week with the verse if you have subscribed to my blog, if not, do so by providing your name and email below. You can at any point, reply to my emails and let me know how your memorization is going and share your progress and struggles. We can keep each other accountable!

What to expect when you subscribe?

  • Receive weekly verse to memorize
  • A devotional on the memory verse to dig a little deeper
  • Pinnable images to pin all the verses you memorized in a separate board

Let’s start the challenge by memorizing a verse that says how special we are in God’s eyes.

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. Psalms 139:14

There is so much that God has done in our lives, our very own spectacular life and body to begin with, that we can never fall short of reasons to praise Him. Do you know very well what marvelous works God has done? Begin by giving Him thanks. Psalm 139 is a wonderful chapter that goes about displaying God’s omnipresent and omniscient natures. This single verse stands out and calls our attention to give Him thanks for how specially He has created us and then added a million other marvelous works to sustain us. Give Him glory by memorizing this verse.

Let me know in the comments below what is the one thing you are looking forward to pursuing in your walk with God this year. I look forward to hearing from you.

I enjoy learning from God’s word, it amazes me, the wisdom and treasures of God and the way He reveals them to me day after day in a profound manner. In this space I share with you what I’ve learnt through my time with the Word. I earnestly believe that learning alone isn’t sufficient but walking in the word is crucial in a believer’s life. As much as I desire to walk in the word, it’s not always easy. My hope is to encourage you, my dear friend, in your walk with God with words that He has used to strengthen my own walk with Him.
