Memory Verse Monday – Week 6

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

The fact that Christ died for us is tremendous in itself. But that doesn’t mean we can forget or neglect the 2 prior reasons why that happened.

First, all men have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) There is no righteous man, not even one. (Romans 3:10) Our sins had permanently separated us from the Holy God. We were unable to save ourselves, let alone get into right terms with God. We were still sinners…

Second, God loves us. The God, who created man, didn’t abandon him when he fell into temptation and sinned. He continued to love him. Wherever Christ’s redemptive work is mentioned, everywhere we see God’s abounding love. For God so loved the world. (John 3:16But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. (Ephesians 2:4-5But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Isn’t it a joy to remember that Christ gave His life for us not just because He wanted to save us from our sin, but because of the unending, unfailing and tremendous love that God had for us, for you and me! He demonstrated that love on the cross. Praise be His name.

I enjoy learning from God’s word, it amazes me, the wisdom and treasures of God and the way He reveals them to me day after day in a profound manner. In this space I share with you what I’ve learnt through my time with the Word. I earnestly believe that learning alone isn’t sufficient but walking in the word is crucial in a believer’s life. As much as I desire to walk in the word, it’s not always easy. My hope is to encourage you, my dear friend, in your walk with God with words that He has used to strengthen my own walk with Him.
