Memory Verse Monday – Week 12

Psalm 103 is one of those chapters that you should memorize entirely. It’s got praises that you can repeat day and night, when you are high or low, in joy and sorrow. The psalm is a reminder of all the wonderful mercies that God has done for you to pull you out of the path of destruction. It has the verse that appears many times in the old testament that talks about the riches and the abounding nature of God’s grace and love! “The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.” (Psalm 103:8) It is a great verse to memorize, but today we will memorize verse 12 from the same psalm.

As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12

I like watching Ted talks on space exploration and I never miss the opportunity to visit the planetarium. The vastness of space and the unending stretch of the universe blows my mind and leaves me in awe of my creator! Whatever the scientific advancement may be, we don’t know the distance between east and west, do we? The term “as far as the east is from the west” just goes to say that He has removed our sins completely, they are not to be found anywhere. He didn’t punish us, like we deserved, instead He has shown us love and grace that is beyond measure. Immeasurable, unending and just wow.

The next time you visit the planetarium, remember this verse and see how it blows your mind away too!

Tip of the Week

Now that we have 12 verses under our belt, it’s a good time to start having a record of them or we will lose count and memory of learning them in the first place. Don’t worry, the same applies with me too. So I have an idea for you. Take the time today to create an album in your phone with all the verses you’ve learnt so far. There are several ways you can do this:

  • Write the verse on post its, or scraps of paper and take a picture using your phone for each verse
  • If you are a subscriber, you must have received lock-screens in your email. You could save those image directly from your email and put them in an album on your phone.
  • You can follow my Pinterest board called Memory Verse and use that

The idea here is to have one spot for all the verses you memorize so when you have some downtime, you can browse through this collection and refresh all the verses you’ve memorized. This is how my album looks like. I created it this past week and I’ve gone to it several times this week. As you learn new verses, add them to this album in your phone and keep the list growing!

If you create an album, I would like to see it, so share it on social media using the #MemoryVerseMonday

I enjoy learning from God’s word, it amazes me, the wisdom and treasures of God and the way He reveals them to me day after day in a profound manner. In this space I share with you what I’ve learnt through my time with the Word. I earnestly believe that learning alone isn’t sufficient but walking in the word is crucial in a believer’s life. As much as I desire to walk in the word, it’s not always easy. My hope is to encourage you, my dear friend, in your walk with God with words that He has used to strengthen my own walk with Him.
