Memory Verse Monday – Week 20

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

V15 talks about how “He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” In Christ means we are united with Him in faith, the faith that believes that He died for us and rose again. The moment we profess this faith, we are made a new creation. Born again, workmanship created in Christ Jesus, being renewed all express the fact that we have been made a new creation.

Might sound a little too good to be true. But it is true my friend. He did it. God made us a new creation. He wiped away our sins and provided a new life for us. He was able to do this through the obedience of Jesus Christ. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ,” (v18)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Memory Verse Monday - Week 20

Our old self has passed away, in the blink of an eye. We don’t need to live in the burden of past sins anymore. “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them,” God’s regeneration work in us brings so much joy and hope. He has made us completely new. Our thoughts, our actions, and our life, does it reflect His wonderful work in us?

In the NIV version, this verse ends with an exclamation! And that’s exactly how we should be. Redeemed, free and brand new. “Behold, I will do a new thing,” (Isaiah 43:19)

I enjoy learning from God’s word, it amazes me, the wisdom and treasures of God and the way He reveals them to me day after day in a profound manner. In this space I share with you what I’ve learnt through my time with the Word. I earnestly believe that learning alone isn’t sufficient but walking in the word is crucial in a believer’s life. As much as I desire to walk in the word, it’s not always easy. My hope is to encourage you, my dear friend, in your walk with God with words that He has used to strengthen my own walk with Him.
