Five Minute Friday : STORY

When we look at Joseph’s life, it is nothing short of a complex weave of threads. It’s confusing, complicated, betrayal is woven in there along with deceit and temptation. It sounds messy and really painful. But when we get to Genesis 50:20, we see Him using the words “But God”

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Genesis 50:20

“But God” has been such a wonderful phrase to me ever since I realized it the first moment in my very own life. You see, we are only seeing one side of the picture or the tapestry. Pain, regret, messes, and complaints. But there is another side to it. Masterpiece. You are his masterpiece created in His image for His glory.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

By looking at the messy pieces, let’s not forget our God, the master creator who weaves a beautiful story out of our lives.

My prayer Lord is that I find the peace and grace to find those moments to glorify you in this picture that you are creating. Show me the light. Show me the path. Give me the courage to see that big picture. Lord, I want to stop focusing on the bad side of my story and turn the picture around. And when I’ve turned it around, I want to be filled with gratitude and awe at the wonder you’ve created in my STORY!

I enjoy learning from God’s word, it amazes me, the wisdom and treasures of God and the way He reveals them to me day after day in a profound manner. In this space I share with you what I’ve learnt through my time with the Word. I earnestly believe that learning alone isn’t sufficient but walking in the word is crucial in a believer’s life. As much as I desire to walk in the word, it’s not always easy. My hope is to encourage you, my dear friend, in your walk with God with words that He has used to strengthen my own walk with Him.
