Five Minute Friday ~ PLACE

When I hear the word PLACE, my mind is all over the place. Because when you think about it, there was a place in the beginning at the garden. When God created, there was a place for everything. A place for water, a place for dry land, a place for the sun and a place for the galaxies.

Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. Genesis 1:9

Later, we see in John 14:2, that Jesus is going to prepare a place for us. How wonderful, a God of order, providing a place for His creation, even you and me. So special.

I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2

But take a look at this verse in Luke. “And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” Luke 9:58

What? Didn’t Jesus have a place for himself? He was on the throne, with majesty and power. He forsook all those and took the form of a man, and humbled himself to the point of death, even death on the cross. He had a place. A cursed and horrid place. For you and for me. So that we will have an eternal place!

Isn’t God’s love just wonderful? So marvelous. Creator, Provider, Keeper, and Almighty, forsook his own place so we can have one. He is going to come back for us and take us to the place He is preparing. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; John14:3”

I enjoy learning from God’s word, it amazes me, the wisdom and treasures of God and the way He reveals them to me day after day in a profound manner. In this space I share with you what I’ve learnt through my time with the Word. I earnestly believe that learning alone isn’t sufficient but walking in the word is crucial in a believer’s life. As much as I desire to walk in the word, it’s not always easy. My hope is to encourage you, my dear friend, in your walk with God with words that He has used to strengthen my own walk with Him.
