Day 5 ~ White like wool and Snow

Day 5 ~ White like wool and Snow

Day 5 ~ White like wool and Snow

The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. Revelation 1:14

His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. Matthew 28:3

These verses immediately trigger my thoughts toward Isaiah 1:18, where it says, “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.” Snow and wool here are symbols of purity, of holiness and an uncorrupted nature.

Untouched, fresh snow is as white as white can be! And the wool here refers to undyed wool before it would get processed and commercialized. Both snow and wool here signify purity and holiness.

It is no wonder then, that the same simile is used to describe the risen Savior and our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Holy and spotless lamb. In Him is no sin. Yet He was made sin for us, so we could be made holy. He stooped from His heavenly place so that He could raise us from the miry clay. He paved a way for our sins to be washed away so that we could be made as white as snow.

Imagine John’s wonder when he was given the vision. He got a glimpse of the Son, shining in all His glory. That would be our wonder too when we come now and reason together with Him. When our sins which are red like crimson become as white as wool.

I enjoy learning from God’s word, it amazes me, the wisdom and treasures of God and the way He reveals them to me day after day in a profound manner. In this space I share with you what I’ve learnt through my time with the Word. I earnestly believe that learning alone isn’t sufficient but walking in the word is crucial in a believer’s life. As much as I desire to walk in the word, it’s not always easy. My hope is to encourage you, my dear friend, in your walk with God with words that He has used to strengthen my own walk with Him.
