Memory Verse Monday – Week 45

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

This verse is the tail end of the passage where God makes Joshua in charge of leading His people after Moses’ death. We memorized the verse right before this one in week 2 of this challenge. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)

And then follows this verse which marks the beginning of Joshua’s leadership. What a wonderful way to commend a man who will lead the nation into the promised land.

  • Be Strong
  • Be of good courage
  • Do not be afraid
  • Do not be dismayed

A list of promises before entering the promised land. After this commission, Joshua would lead them across Jordan and there lay before them this fortified city Jericho. God gives us strength according to our trials. He knows what lies ahead of us and he prepares us. He is with you, wherever you go.

I pray that this promise will remain with you this week.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 Memory Verse Monday - Week 45

I enjoy learning from God’s word, it amazes me, the wisdom and treasures of God and the way He reveals them to me day after day in a profound manner. In this space I share with you what I’ve learnt through my time with the Word. I earnestly believe that learning alone isn’t sufficient but walking in the word is crucial in a believer’s life. As much as I desire to walk in the word, it’s not always easy. My hope is to encourage you, my dear friend, in your walk with God with words that He has used to strengthen my own walk with Him.
